It was a lovely morning to paint plein air. I have passed the David Irish Preserve north of Harbor Springs many times, reflecting on what a fine gentleman Dave was and how I loved driving by this lovely pastoral scene. I final stopped to paint it. All was quite enjoyable as I worked and watched the northwest sky darken. Hastily, I made my last strokes and began to pack up as rain began to fall, at first lightly and soon so hard I was soaked before I had all of my supplies safely stowed in my vehicle. I hope to return another day to paint again.
