This piece was painted from a photo and completed in studio. The photo was taken shortly after sunset during a late summer event at nearby Bay Harbor, located on the shore of Lake Michigan west of Petoskey, Michigan. Though it is a regional image, this waterscape near the marina could have been taken at any dock, anywhere. I loved the remaining light in the darkening sky and the reflections on the water with rocks visible and glowing beneath the surface of the water near the shore.
